Policies

Payment Policy

Lesson fees must be paid monthly, at the first lesson of each month. Payments are non-refundable and will only be forwarded at the discretion of your instructor for lesson dates which are canceled by the instructor if a make-up lesson opportunity cannot be offered. When signing up for lessons, the instructor makes a commitment of preparation, time and services for students in their designated time slots. Student and parental cooperation in reciprocating that commitment is expected. Absent students will not be reimbursed for a missed lesson, or a missed make-up lesson. Lesson fees must still be paid at the first lesson of each new month, even if your instructor has forwarded any portion of payment to cover lesson fees within the new month. When payment becomes past due by two months, lessons will be suspended until full payment is made.

Missed Lessons

If you cannot avoid missing a lesson, please give a 24-hour notice prior to your missed lesson, if at all possible. Your instructor will then review the schedule and offer you rescheduling options. If your instructor does not contact you within the week to reschedule, it is the student’s responsibility to follow up with the instructor to secure a make-up lesson date. Make-up lesson dates will be placed within the month and more often, within the same week, if possible. Make-up lesson time may be added to an already existing lesson slot – doubling the lesson time if your instructor’s schedule allows for this – OR, rescheduled for a separate lesson day, and/or time slot. If scheduling a make-up lesson time becomes a challenge for either the student or the instructor, your instructor will be as flexible as possible during week-long school vacations so as to accommodate long-standing make-up lesson time for students.

Illness Policy

Sickness, allergies and ill-health are bound to happen. However, if you know you have been ill with any of the following, please refrain from sharing it with your instructor, fellow students, and the studio rooms and furnishings!

1. Covid, Flu, or Stomach Bug:
If you or anyone in your household shows active symptoms of Covid, flu, or an intestinal tract illness within two weeks prior to your lesson, please call the studio to make arrangements for a make-up lesson.

2. Lice:
a.) If you have been exposed to someone with lice, please contact the studio to make it known and to discuss your approaching lesson.

b.) If you have become infected with lice, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND LESSONS. Even if you have treated lice of the affected person and within the home, please let the studio know and as a precaution, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND LESSONS FOR TWO WEEKS following the confirmed absence of lice. If other members of the household become infected, lessons will NOT resume for two weeks following the confirmed absence of lice.

3. If the student, parent, or any other attending persons receives a Covid-19 “vaccine”/injection or booster, please let the studio know and virtual lessons will take place for a matter of weeks, due to shedding. This is non-negotiable.

Snow Days

Based on the radius of student travel distances and routes, combined with the fact that weather conditions can improve substantially from the designation of a snow day to the actual lesson time, lessons are not automatically canceled on snow days. However, traveling safely should be the first priority, so if the weather in your location, or on route, will prevent safe travel, please contact the studio as soon as you've made the decision not to attend. Rarely, the instructor will make a decision to cancel all scheduled lessons for the day, in which case your instructor will typically contact you one to two hours prior to your lesson time using the communication method found to be most dependable in reaching you.

Guests and Siblings in the Studio

1.   Guests and siblings are welcome in the studio and adjoining waiting room. As a guest, please remember to be calm, quiet, and respectful so the student can have a successful lesson. Students, family or friends may not move about beyond the studio, waiting room, or entrance without permission from the instructor.

2.   Please be sure to have your little one use the restroom before attending their lesson. There is a Stewart’s Shop located en route to the studio with access to public restrooms. The restroom in the private home of the studio may only be used for children ages five and younger, if necessary, while accompanied by an adult, or, for emergencies by anyone. While using the restroom, all other rooms are not to be entered.

3.   Toys and children’s books in the waiting room may be used at will. Please ask for assistance for any items within the enclosed bookcase.

4. When leaving the waiting room, any items that you or your guests used must be put away and waste/litter moved to the trashcan. Please leave the space as you found it.

5. If something becomes damaged in the waiting room/studio, please make this known at the lesson as a matter of respect and courtesy.

Pets

If you are required to travel with your pet, please refrain from allowing them on studio property/lawns. Animals may not move about to defecate on the premises.
