Care of Your Instrument


DO - Keep your instrument in it's case at all times when not in use.

DO - Keep it away from extreme temperatures and fluctuations in humidity.

DO - Keep your instrument properly humidified, using a Damp It humidifier. 

DO - Store your instrument at a mid-level, stable and safe location in your home. 

DO - Protect your instrument from exposure to extremes of aridity or humidity. 

DO - Use resting position only when walking with your instrument. 

DO - Use a soft, DRY cloth to gently wipe excess rosin from your instrument on a regular basis. 


DO NOT - Leave your instrument inside a vehicle in any climate or any temperature, for any length of time!

DO NOT - Eat or drink near your instrument.

DO NOT - Allow others who are unfamiliar with the fragile nature of string instruments to handle your instrument.

DO NOT - Attempt to tune your instrument unless you have been properly trained by your instructor. 

DO NOT - Attempt to change your strings unless you have been properly trained by your instructor.
