Q. Do parents need to attend lessons?
A. Parents or the supporting adult should make an effort to attend each lesson so as to be capable of enforcing and helping to emulate skills and practice content from the lesson.
Q. What will I need to bring with me for the first lesson?
A. A composition notebook.
Q. How much do lessons cost and how long are they?

Q. Will lessons automatically be canceled on a snow day?
A. No. Refer to the Policies page, under Snow Days.
Q. How much time is spent on studio work aside from actual lesson time?
A. Please refer to the Studio Data link located on the Documents & Links page.
Q. Are lessons ever recommended on an every other week basis?
A. No. Steady progress depends on regular instruction. Students who are accountable for preparing lesson material on a weekly basis, progress faster and demonstrate more stability than one who receives intermittent instruction.
Q. What happens if I can't make a lesson and how can I make it up?
A. If possible, call, text or email the studio 24 hrs. prior to the missed lesson and refer to the Policies page, under Missed Lessons.
Q. Are gift certificates available?
A. Yes.
Q. Are rental instruments available?
A. Yes. The studio does retain a limited number of rental instruments. The fee for available violin rentals is $25/3 month period. The fee for available cello rentals is $45/3 month period. Rental fees are due the first week of each new rental period. Rental periods are September, December, March, June.
Q. What materials will I need to purchase right away for playing my instrument?
A. Violinists will need the correct sized shoulder rest, cellists will need an endpin anchor, and rosin is needed for both. Please see the Materials/Merchants page for details on vendors, etc.
Q. What should I do if my instrument is out of tune?
A. Do NOT attempt to tune an instrument that belongs to the studio. Contact the studio to arrange for your instructor to tune the instrument. If you own the instrument, please consult your teacher, who will advise/train you in general tuning practices. Your instrument will still need to be precisely tuned at each lesson by your instructor.
